LAKE ORION — Lake Orion Police Chief Thomas Lindberg introduced the LOPD’s new full-time officer Keith Quick and new reserve officers Ryan Hammond and Shane Stalker during a Lake Orion Village Council meeting on May 28.
Quick came to Lake Orion after a 24-year career working for the Lapeer County Sheriff’s Department, according to Lindberg. His hiring fills a full-time-position vacancy in the department.
“I will always maintain the highest ethical standards and uphold the values of the community of Lake Orion,” Quick said during a swearing in ceremony at the meeting.
Ryan Hammond is one of the department’s newest reserve officers. Hammond’s father, Ray, is Lake Orion’s ordinance officer, reserve sergeant and marine officer.
Like Hammond, the departments other newest reserve officer, Shane Stalker, also completed the reserve academy. Stalker is starting his own security business, according to Lindberg.
“Shane also got, through the academy, an academic award for the highest academics in the class,” Lindberg said.
“Welcome to the community, to the family, and to the brotherhood and, most importantly, to the service of this community” council President Jerry Narsh said. “You will never regret this decision tonight.”
