Despite mixed results in Goodrich’s Jan. 21 meet, three Martian wrestlers stepped it up.
Eric Fernelius (152 lbs.) and Barrett Johnson (215) won both their matches for the Martians, who lost to New Lothrop 48-18 before defeating LakeVille 54-30.
Garrett Higdon (103) also won both his matches that day, though one of his wins was by forfeit.
Goodrich only had three wins against New Lothrop: Higdon defeated Jordan Brown by a 5-2 decision; Fernelius pinned Shane Gross in 1:44; and Johnson defeated Alex Gasper by a 3-0 decision.
On the flip side, several Martians experienced success against the Falcons:
‘Brian Grzecki (103), Higdon (112), Billy Feldmann (130), Kyle Fletcher (160) and Andy Crawley (215) all won by default.
‘Jason Fischer (119) pinned Nathan Roth in 2:26.
‘Fernelius (152) pinned Jon Chizmadia in 4:22.
‘Andy Bohlen (171) pinned Chris Goodhue in 1:42.
‘Johnson (215) pinned Andrew Campbell in 59 seconds.
The Martians travel to Bendle Wednesday, Feb. 4 for a 6 p.m. meet.
