Goodrich-Development in Goodrich along M-15 may expand, now that a sewer line is completed.
Zito Construction of Grand Blanc Twp. started work on the line in the autumn months of 2003.
The sewer line extends from the Goodrich municipal complex property at State and Hufstader roads out to the east side of M-15, said Jakki Sidge, Goodrich Village administrator.
‘By extending the sewer to the roadway and across, it will allow future development to take place along the M-15 corridor,? said Sidge.
Commercial property owners in the area can take advantage of the new sewer line by paying to have it extended to their site plus a tap-in fee. Sidge estimates monthly sewer fees would cost $21 per unit, with the number of units determined according to the type of business.
The system cost $59,000, and will be paid out of the village sewer fund, said Sidge. The final cost was $6,000 less than expected, based on an engineering estimate of $65,000.
