Student loves charity work

Clarkston’s Christian Hall is proving there is no age limit on giving back to the community.
The eight-year-old Hall recently completed raising $6,277 for his Cub Scout Troop in a popcorn sale. That was good for first place in the state of Michigan.
‘I always went out to sell, even when I was sick,? Hall said. ‘I set a high goal every year.?
The first year he participated in the sale for Pack 126 from Clarkston Elementary, Hall set the goal of $2,000 and attained it. The following year his goal was $4,000 and this year it was $6,000.
‘I have always reached my goals,? Hall said. ‘I would like to thank all the businesses that helped me out by buying popcorn.?
Hall also took time during his winter vacation from Springfield Plains Elementary to work for The Salvation Army as a bell ringer.
‘He saw the bell ringers and immediately asked me if he could do it,? mother Robin Hall said. ‘Everyday when he came home from school he would ask me, Did you call them yet?? He was very excited.?
Hall finally got his chance and was a bell ringer outside Farmer Jack.
‘I just really like to help people,? Hall said.
Robin Hall could not be more pleased with the helping nature of her son.
‘We are very proud of him. It is rare when you find a kid his age who wants to help so many people. It is great,? Robin Hall said.
