As he has all season, junior Brad Lawrence paced the Brandon boys cross country team in the Oct. 4 Oakland County Meet at Kensington Metropark in Milford.
Lawrence was the lone Blackhawk runner to place in the top 100, finishing 72nd overall with a time of 18:54. As a team, Brandon placed 27th out of 43 teams at the meet with 743 points. Milford won the meet with 49 points, while Bloomfield Hills Lahser finished second (115) and Lake Orion third (144).
Other Brandon competitors at the meet were: Chris Holton (136th, 19:14), Trevor DeWitt (146th, 19:22), Steve Sanday (182nd, 19:50), Jared Blunk (207th, 20:25), Jeremiah DeJose (228th, 20:53) and Dylan Kent (244th, 21:25).
On Oct. 1, the Blackhawks dropped their meet against Holly and Fenton, losing to Holly 24-33 and Fenton 15-43.
Despite the loss, several Brandon runners achieved their personal best times: DeWitt (9th, 18:04), Holton (12th, 18:46), Sanday (16th, 19:18), DeJose (21st, 20:15), Stewart Olney (21:57) and Brad Erlandson (23:12).
Lawrence led the Blackhawks in the meet, finishing 7th overall with a time of 18:04.
