Girls win, boys lose at Athens CC meet

The Wolves cross-country teams hosted a meet against Troy Athens Tuesday, Sept. 23.
The boys team lost, 30-25, but the girls runners scored an 18-38 victory.
Top finishers for the girls included Anne Oltman, first, 20:31; Elle Kuhta, second, 20:54; Lyndsay Smith, third, 20:55; Lauren Witt, fourth, 21:05; Marie Timm, eighth, 21:32; and Whitney Boumier, 10th; 21:51.
Top finishers for the boys squad included Evan Schneider, second, 17:12.9; Andy Kodra, fourth, 17:27.9; Hazen Brennan, sixth, 17:49.9; Tom Fick, eighth, 17:57.7; and Edward Brennan, 10th, 18:21.2.
At the Hanson Invitational Saturday, Sept. 27, the boys team placed third among 13 competing teams, with 126 points. (Milford, 42, and Port Huron Northern, 103, finished ahead of the Wolves.)
Andy Kodra led the Wolves, placing 17th with a time of 17:50. Others were Evan Schneider, 18th, 17:53; Hazen Brennan, 21st, 18:00; Tom Fick, 33rd, 18:25; Edward Brennan, 37th, 18:34; Joe Seibert, 50th, 18:54; and Scott Linville, 65th, 19:32.
This week’s scheduled action includes a home meet against Lake Orion Tuesday, Sept. 30 and the county meet Saturday, Oct. 4.
