E. Elaine Barden Petiprin, 86, formerly of Lake Orion, died Tuesday, November 8, 2016 in Devonshire Retirement Village, Lapeer. She was born September 3, 1930 at home in Kingston to John and Edna (Warner) Barden. She married Duane C. Petiprin October 16, 1955 in Caro. He preceded her in death June 25, 1975.
Elaine completed her RN Nurses training at Hurley Hospital Nursing School. She worked for a short time at Hurley Hospital, then for a local Doctors office until her marriage, and then for Pontiac State Hospital for two years. Elaine retired from St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Pontiac in 1995 after over 21 years of service.
She enjoyed many concerts at Fox Theatre in Detroit, visiting Meadow Brook Theatre, shopping and eating out with friends.
Elaine is survived by her children: Tomas and Paula Petiprin and their children, Dane and Meghan of Imlay City, Susan and Dennis Sabov and their children, Blake, Brenna and Erin of Metamora, Scott and Cathy Petiprin and their son, Logan of Kenockee Township. She is also survived by her brother, John (Janet) Barden of Kingston; sister-in- law, Jan Barden of Kingston; several nieces and nephews; stepchildren: Julie Lewis of Birch Run, Jory Petiprin of Flint area. She is preceded in death by her brother, Don Barden; half sister, Welda Willert; half brother, Charles Barden.
Graveside service held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2016 Kingston Cemetery – Kingston with Rev. Carol Abbot of Kingston United Methodist Church officiating. Interment will be in Kingston Cemetery.
