Synopsis, Regular Meeting, Monday, September 19, 2016
Meeting called to order at 7:03 p.m. All members present.
Invocation: Pastor Sanders. All rose for the Pledge of Allegiance.
Adopted resolution to set proposed 2016 millage rates.
Held Truth in Budgeting Public Hearing.
Held Bunny Run Water Quality Control SAD #1 Public Hearing.
Heard presentation from the Girl Scouts regarding Bat House Project.
Heard presentation from the Daisy Project regarding the LO Palooza fundraiser.
Recognized Kristi Schons as September’s Citizen of the Month for her work with the Daisy Project/LOPalooza fundraiser.
Approved the payment of bills in the amount of $1,187,623.67, payrolls in the amount of $124,513.25 for a total disbursement of funds in the amount of $1,312,136.92.
Approved Minutes, Special Joint Meeting with the Village of Lake Orion, Wednesday, August 31, 2016.
Approved Minutes, Special Joint Meeting the Corridor Improvement Authority, Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
Approved Minutes, Regular Meeting, Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
Set the Halloween Trick-or-Treat hours to be October 31, 2016, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Received and filed the Paint Creek Trailways Commission 2017 budget.
Received and filed Application under Ord. 76, Alcoholic Beverages Regulation, for Lake Orion Sunrise Rotary – Tommystock event.
Received and filed the Q2 2016 Cash Activity and Investment Report.
Appointed Jacqueline Carlson to Voting Member (term expiring 12/31/2017) and Michael DeLuca to Alternate Member (term expiring 12/31/2018) to the Environmental Resources Committee.
Authorized the purchase of special needs playground equipment, using funds donated from the Daisy Project as well as host fee funds, with the Township’s portion of the cost limited to $25,000.00; further, authorized any necessary budget adjustments.
Adopted resolution setting actual 2016 Millage rates and directed Supervisor and Clerk to complete the 2016 Tax Rate Request.
Adopted resolution confirming the assessment roll for the Bunny Run Lake Water Quality Control SAD #1.
Authorized proceeding with a feasibility study regarding the future of Fire Station #1, at a cost not to exceed $6,000.00 (funds from account #206-336-930); further, authorized any necessary budget adjustments.
Scheduled Budget Work Sessions: 5:30 p.m. on October 10 (Orion Center), 6:00 p.m. on October 13 (Township Hall), 8:00 p.m. on October 22 (Orion Center), 5:30 p.m. on October 24 (Township Hall).
Approved the Traffic Signalization Agreement with Menard, Inc., and authorized the Supervisor to sign on behalf of the Township.
Discussed Baldwin Road Public Input Meeting to be held 6:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. on September 29, 2016 at the Orion Center.
