M-24 driver passes out, crashes into 3 other vehicles

A 25-year-old Oxford woman was transported to POH Medical Center by ambulance after she passed out at the wheel and struck three other vehicles while traveling on M-24 on Sept. 8.
According to an OCSD accident report, the woman was traveling northbound on Lapeer Road near Clarkston Road, when she passed out and ran her 1997 Chevy off the road and struck another vehicle, driven by a 53-year-old Clarkston man. The woman’s vehicle then struck a sign and went over a grass area in front of the Kmart store on Lapeer, striking a third vehicle, driven by a 46-year-old Buckhorn Drive man.
The woman’s vehicle than proceeded north through the Kmart parking lot, eventually running over a stop sign and coming to a stop after striking a fourth vehicle, which was parked and unoccupied in the lot.
The woman was found there passed out in her vehicle, and was taken to POH for treatment of unspecified injuries.
The cause of the accident was not known, but there was consent for blood to be drawn at the hospital to test for suspected drunken driving.
