Not just for summer: Frosty Boy open all year

Brandon Twp.-A summertime favorite is now open through the winter.
Frosty Boy of Ortonville, 955 S. Ortonville Road, is under new ownership and open year-round featuring soups, side dishes, sandwiches and Canadian poutine. Bryan Wojtkowicz, an area resident and Brandon High School graduate, purchased the local landmark earlier this year.
Wojtkowicz kept the famous warm weather treats, including Michigan-made Hudsonville ice cream, specialty sundaes and soft serve cones available through the chilly months of winter.
Carly Jacobi is the general manager and has worked at the local eatery for several years.
‘The new menu is amazing,? she said. ‘We provide fresh made soups, barbecue sandwiches and poutine. ‘Everything is cooked to order, so just call ahead and enjoy a lunch or supper that’s fresh.?
Canadian poutine are French fries sprinkled with fresh cheese curds and drenched in gravy topped with chicken or pork. Also new is the chicken parmesan sandwich, served on a rosemary ciabatta topped with bolognese sauce and mozzarella fresca. Another house special is the pulled pork slider or sandwich served with spicy Carolina or savory Memphis barbecue sauce.
‘Our famous broasted chicken, wing dings or strips are just perfect this time of year for holiday parties or football gatherings,? she added. ‘And don’t forget to take home one of our ice cream specialties’it may be cooler out right now, but Frosty Boy still provides some tasty warmer weather treats.?
Open this winter 11 a.m.-8 p.m., 7 days per week. 248-627-3800.
