New scoreboard

Goodrich-When the Martian nine take the field next spring, knowing the score will be easy thanks to a local business.
Eariler this year, Jeff Dawley, owner of Atlas Real Estate, 8491 South State Road, Goodrich, donated a new and improved scoreboard for the baseball field located behind the high school.
‘We appreciate the continued support from Atlas Real Estate and Jeff Dawley,? said Dave Davis, district athletic director.
‘Atlas Real Estate has been a long time supporter of Goodrich Area Schools and the donation of the scoreboard is a great addition to the ongoing facility improvements.?
In February Dawley contacted Bob Foreback, varsity baseball coach, about purchasing a new scoreboard for the varsity baseball field. Dawley’s actions were inspired by both the recent donation by Randy Wise Automotive Group scoreboard for the Roy U. Stacey Athletic Complex and also a desire to add to the continued improvements at the baseball field.
‘It’s an honor to help out the school with a new scoreboard,? said Dawley.
‘Atlas Real Estate is a big part of this community and the new scoreboard is a way for us to give back.?
Work on the varsity baseball field continues.
In the fall of 2014, Tim Cinader of Trojan Development donated his expertise, manpower and equipment to replace the infield and make needed landscaping improvements. Cinader, along with volunteers from the Goodrich Thunder Baseball Program as well as members of the high school varsity team, worked on the field for several days.
Dawley then contacted the school about the donation of the new board. After working through a few designs with Michelle Imbrunone, district superintendent the approval was given in April to proceed with the purchase of the scoreboard.
‘This is another example of how fortunate Goodrich Area Schools is to have so many local businesses who are willing to support our programs,? added Davis.
‘We are in the process of looking for a sponsor for a new scoreboard and improvements to the softball field at the high school.?
