Parents needing care for their elementary-aged children may sign up for Kids Club at the Clarkston Community Education Center. Care for children in grades 1-5 will be offered at their home school during Developmental Days; and, care for kindergartners will be offered at the South Sashabaw Early Childhood Center. Kindergartners will be bussed to the center from their schools. Children who are already registered for Kids Connection must also register for Kids Club.

There are limited openings in the Clarkston Community Schools preschool program, Funshine, a nationally accredited early childhood program offered by the district with two sites including the South Sashabaw Early Childhood Center and the Funshine Clarkston High School. Programs are available for three, four and five year olds; daycare; and toddler playtime. The Michigan School Readiness program is also offered for four year olds who qualify.

There will be a new site for some Clarkston Adult Enrichment classes such as yoga, stained glass, and more. Classes will be offered at the South Sashabaw Early Childhood Center in the mornings so preschool parents can take their children to class and then in enjoy their own class.

The Renaissance High School program is accepting applications for the 2003-04 school year. The program is for students in grades 10-12 who may need a smaller setting to be successful. Students may receive credit for volunteer service. Students in grades 11 and 12 also qualify for “fast track” credit.

Summer camps include: Dance for Fun for preschool through grade five children beginning July 28 as well as the Rocket Camp, Ceramics Camp, and art lessons which begin Aug. 4.
