OES kids take Super-U Challenge

As a way of spreading the anti-bullying message, Oxford Elementary hosted an assembly known as the ‘Super-U Challenge.?
‘Super-U Challenge is an interactive game show, kind of based around the format of some of the old Nickelodeon games shows, Double Dare and things like that, so it’s really interactive and not just questions and answers,? said game show host Chris Linn. ‘Each challenge in the program is kind of based around a message about respecting others (and) doing your part to contribute to the community.
‘In the case of Oxford Elementary, it’s doing your part to keep your school bully-free and help make this a great school year. Then the show wraps up with a big challenge using some game show-style slime.?
‘It’s a way to get those kids hopefully thinking about making good choices and good character things, but in a way they feel they aren’t being lectured to,? he added. ‘Even though the kids are having fun, you can see they are listening when you get to the message part.?
Linn does the show with his wife Brandy.
‘I am just crowd control,? she said. ‘He does all the talking.?
Super-U Challenge is part of Midwest School shows based in Rochester Hills.
Chris said they travel to Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and California.
‘It changes with every show because you never know what the audience is going to be like,? he said. ‘Every school is different. All the kids are different, so it’s pretty exciting.?
