After many postponements due to bad weather, Oxford’s Boys and Girls Track Team had their first meet of the season against the Clarkston Wolves on April 16.
The boys lost to the Wolves 91 to 37.
In the 3200 meter relay Oxford’s Joseph Ufolla, Noah Jenkins, Ryan Gillespie and Michael Tuski took second place with 8:39.9. In the 100 Meter High Hurdles, Anson Rowley took second place with 16.7 seconds and Erick Vandecar finished third with 16.95 seconds. In the 100 Meter Dash Dallas Pruitt took third with 11.82 seconds. In the 800 Meter relay Glacier Wellington, Pruitt, Alexander Sutherland and Luke Champion took second place with 1:37.8. In the 1600 Meter Run Ufolla took third with 4:49.79.
In the 400 Meter Relay Johnson, Keener,Kyle Reason and Robert Norfolk took first with 47.15 seconds. In the 400 Meter Dash Bryce Clark took second with 54.89 seconds. In the 300 Meter Low Hurdles Vandecar placed second with 41.92 seconds. In the 800 Meter run Tuski took second with 2:06.52 and Ufolla followed in third with 2:11.8. In the 200 Meter Dash Wellington placed second with 24.09 seconds. In the 1600 Meter Relay Wellington, Clark, Vandecar and Tushey took second with 3:43.37
In the field events Grant Krause threw 39? 5 ?? in shot put. In the Discus Keegan Konkle threw 108″ for third place. In the Long Jump Vandecar placed third with a 17? 8 ?? jump. In the High Jump Pruitt took first with 5?10″ and Norfolk followed in second with 5?8.?
The Lady Wildcats lost to the Lady Wolves 95 to 33.
In the 3200 Relay Jessica Murphy, Ashlynn Calka, Emily Cleland, Brooke Kovacic took second place with 10:30.2 In the 100 Meter High Hurdle Cara Commons placed second with 17.84 seconds. In the 100 Meter Dash Briana Jackson took first with 12.94 seconds. In the 800 Meter Relay Morgan Lavender, Cara Commons, Taylor Teraski, Jackson placed second with 1:59.29. In the 300 Meter Low Hurdles Commons took third place with 54.17 seconds. In the 200 Meter Dash Jackson took second with 27.54 seconds.
In the 3200 Meter Run Kovacic placed first with 11:49.5 and Hannah Long followed in third with 12:29.72. In the 1600 Meter relay Cleland, Caufield, Calka and Christiana Bruce took second with 4:53.69.
In the field events Victoria Bearse took first with 32?9 in the Shot Put. In the Discus Bearse also placed first with 97? 71/2″ and Jennifer Brasington took third with 71?10.? In the Long Jump Meixell placed third with 11?1/2.?
On April 19 the boys lost to Rochester Adams 39 to 89.
In the 3200 Meter Relay Oxford took second. In the 110 Medium Hurdles Anson Rowley took third with 20.36 seconds, and Kyle Reason followed in fourth with 20.73 seconds. In the 100 Meter Dash Dallas Pruitt took second with 12.07 seconds and Robert Norfolk placed fourth with 12.29 seconds. In the 400 Meter Relay Reason, Dallas Pruitt, JP Sutherland and Josh Johnson took first with 47.47 seconds.
In the 400 Meter Dash Jared Butler placed second with 57.02 seconds. In the 300 Medium Hurdles Anson Rowley took second with 45.08 seconds. In the 800 Meter Run Michael Tuski placed second with 2:13.96 and Joeseph Ufolla followed in third with 2:16.40. In the 200 Meter Dash Robert Norfolk took first with 25.26. In the 3200 Meter Run Noah Jenkins placed third with 11.12 seconds. In the 1600 Meter Relay Rowley, Tom Spicuzza, Jared Butler and Tuski placed second with 3:57.47
In field events, Pruitt took first in the Shot Put with 5?8″ and Norfolk followed in second placed with 5?6.? In the Long Jump Conner Bandel took second with 101″ and Levi Kinne placed third with 99.10″ In the Shotput Badel threw 40″ for second place and Krause threw 39? 4 1/4″ for third place.
The girls also lost to Adams 38 to 89.
In the 32000 Meter Oxford took second place. In the 110 Medium Hurdles Cara Commons placed second with 18.16 seconds and Morgan Lavendar placed fourth with 20.34 seconds. In the 100 Meter Dash Jasmine George took third with 14.44 seconds. In the 1600 Meter Run Brook Kovacic took first with 5:20.69 and Christiana Bruce took third with 5:57.38. In the 400 Meter Dash Melanie Cappell took second with 1:11.86.
In the 800 Meter Run Jessica Murphy placed third with 2.39.22. In the 200 Meter Dash Briana Jackson took second with 29.23 seconds. In the 3200 Meter Run Brooke Kovacic placed second with 11:41 and Hannah Long took third with 12:32.97. In the 1600 Meter Relay Jessica Murphy, Keila Mendez, Jasmine George and Melanie Cappell took second with 4:55.62.
In field events Cara Commons placed second with 14?11″ in the Long Jump. In the Discus Victoria Bearse threw 90?5″ for first place and Jennifer Brasington took second with 77?9″ In the Shot Put Bearse also threw 33? for first and Brasington 24?6″ for third.
The next home meet for Oxford Boys and Girls Track will be Saturday, April 27 at 12 p.m. for the Oxford Invitational.
