The Oxford boys swim/dive team competed in the OAA White Division League Championships Feb. 20-22 at Bloomfield Hills HS.
‘We had a pretty good final night of the meet, with a sixth’place out of 8 teams overall finish,? said Head Coach Jacquelyn Rank. ‘We set 4 new school records, plus another 4 personal records.?
Results include: 200 Medley Relay:’Oxford’s A Relay of Stresky, Vandecar, Vega, and Hibdon took 7th’with a time of 1:48.01.
200 Freestyle:’Jarred Butler took 1st’place with a new school record of 1:43.81. Cheyne Stresky came in 7th’place with a personal best time; 200 Individual Medley:’Erick Vandecar finished in fifth’place with a new school record time of 2:05.81. Chad Scribner came in 17th’place with a personal best time; 50 Freestyle:’Corey Jones finished in 14th’place with a time of 24.54. Sean Terry finished in 18th’place for Oxford; Diving:’Jared Tasch took second’place with a new school record of 339.65. Marco Campagiorni came in fifth’place;
100 Butterfly:’Erick Vandecar finished in ninth’place with a personal-best time of 57.38. Armando Vega took 15th’place for Oxford; 100 Freestyle:’Jarred Butler came in 1st’place with a time of 47.64. Blake Hibdon finished in 13th’place;
500 Freestyle:’Cheyne Stresky took 4th’place for Oxford with a time of 5:03.99; 200 Freestyle Relay:’Oxford’s A Relay of Jones, Vega, Terry, and Butler came in fifth’place with a time of 1:35.29. Corey Jones led the relay off with a personal-best 50 freestyle time; 100 Backstroke:’Blake Hibdon tied for 8th’place with a time of 1:00.98; 400 Freestyle Relay:’Oxford’s A Relay of Stresky, Hibdon, Vandecar, and Butler took third’with a new school record of 3:22.35.
‘Jarred Butler was named Senior of the Meet for his two first-place finishes in individual events. Jared Tasch and Marco Campagiorni both qualified for the Regional Diving Championships at Fenton High School on Tuesday, March 5,? Ranks said. ‘If they make the top 12 at Regionals, then they will compete on Friday, March 8th’at the MHSAA Division II State Meet.?
Swimmers that have qualified for the MHSAA Division II State Meet at Oakland University include Jarred Butler, Cheyne Stresky, and Erick Vandecar in individual events and relays, as well as Armando Vega and Blake Hibdon in relays.
