Lady Kickers are back on the field as they hold their season opener on Thursday at home against Waterford Kettering.
The Clarkston Girls Varsity Soccer team spent last week practicing and getting ready for the season before they played in the Lakes Area Showcase on Saturday.
During the three scrimmages they tied against Grand Blanc and Powers Catholic and beat Howell, 1-0.
“The scrimmages on Saturday went really well,” said senior Lisa Lyons. “I am really looking forward to Kettering this week. We played them in districts last year.”
They beat them after two 10-minute overtime periods, 2-1.
“They are always gunning for us,” said Sarah Wasilk, head coach. “We don’t overlook them. We are just trying to take it one game at a time.?
“I think this will be a good competition and to see where we are at,” Lyons added.
They play Waterford Kettering on Thursday and Berkley on Tuesday at home.
“It is going to be a tough game,” Wasilk added about Berkley. “They are always good. We have tied them the past two times we have played them. In order to get off on a good start we need to beat Berkley and Kettering.”
JV begins at 5:30 p.m., varsity follows.
