The Holly/Oxford boys ski team closed out their regular season with a first place finish in the Mt. Holly Divisional Championship.
Holly/Oxford won with 29 points, followed by Grand Blanc in second with 68 points and Fenton in third with 78 points.
The boys finished first in both the slalom and giant slalom. Senior Alex Schultz was the fastest boy in the slalom, running the course in a blitzering 56.95 seconds. He was followed by freshmen Lars Jorgens-Kokate, who was less than half a second behind Schultz.
Jorgens-Kokate finished in 57.36.
Rounding out the top four for the boys in the slalom were sophomore Greg Schultz (58.59) and Holly senior Dalton Sink.
In the boys giant slalom, Jorgens-Kokate bested the field, finishing with a time of 43.26.
Fenton’s Seth Thompson was second in 43.70, while Alex Schultz finished third, one one-hundreth of a second slower.
Greg Schultz was fourth for Oxford with a time of 43.77, while Sink finished seventh in 43.91.
Holly/Oxford finished second overall in the final season standings.
The girls didn’t fare quite as well as the boys during the tournament.
They finished third with 90 points. Fenton won with 45.5 points, and Grand Blanc was second with 60 points.
Holly senior Rachel Harrington was the top skier for Holly/Oxford. She finished third overall in 1:02.7. Wildcat sophomore Iida Mantyla finished 12th in 1:10.75. Juniors Abby Wrobel was 13th (1:11.35) and Alyssa Wysocki was 14th (1:11.74).
In the giant slalom, Harrington again paced Holly/Oxford, finishing third 45.66 seconds. Mantyla finished 12th (47.23), while Holly junior Jessie Felix was 15th (48.25) and Wrobel was 18th (49.10).
Overall, the girls finished third in the season standings.
