The streak of wins for Lake Orion’s girls? volleyball team was interrupted just once last week, but the slight cost them the OAA Red league title on Oct. 18.
The Lady Dragons battled the Wolves of Clarkston, eventually falling to their northern rivals in five close games.
‘We had a little bit of a slow start in the first couple games, we got back into it, played well, but there were just a few big points we didn’t execute on,? said Head Couch Bob Howey. ‘We really wanted to win that league title, so it’s a pretty big letdown.?
The loss did not deter the girls long, however, for the team beat North Farmington in league play two days later, and then Brown City, Lansing Christian and Dakota on Oct. 22 in the North Branch Tournament pool play. They also defeated Mason, Saline and North Branch in the tournament’s playoff round
The team is now 46-11-2, with its first playoff match coming Nov. 1, against Oxford at home.
