If you’re on the fence about what to have for dessert’check out Moo Cow & Desserts for some new tastes.
‘I wanted to do something I was passionate about,? said Moo Cow & Desserts owner Stephanie Jones, a Goodrich High School and Michigan State University graduate. ‘Honestly, I could go without lunch or dinner, but just love desserts. We love Traverse City’I wanted to create a business with a different twist and the highest quality products from that region of the state.?
Moo Cow & Desserts, 8233 S. State Road, Goodrich, opened May 7 and features 24 flavors of Michigan-made Ashby’s Sterling Ice Cream. In addition, Moo Cow offers sorbet, sherbets, sugar-free ice cream and hand-dipped yogurt. Other desserts include homemade cookies, brownies, pies and cakes. The homemade waffle cones and bowls are a special recipe created by Jones.
‘Check our Mocha Moo or Mariah Cherry and the famous Cow Pie Sundae made with fresh strawberries,? she said. ‘We are strong supporters of Michigan-made products. I wanted to create a one-stop shop for desserts’an upbeat, happy place to come.?
Jones even created a dessert for the family dog.
‘We even have ice cream for dogs’they are part of the family, too,? she said. ‘I’m a big dog fan and donate the proceeds to Adopt-A-Pet.?
A grand opening is scheduled for June 18. Current spring hours, Sunday-Thursday, 12:30-9 :30 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, noon-10 p.m.; and summer hours, 11 a.m.-10 p.m. everyday.
