Investigation continues into a March 7 house fire in Springfield Township in which a resident was fatally injured.
Springfield Township firefighters responded to a residential structure fire in the 17000 block of Julie Drive, 6:41 p.m., March 7. Donald Austin Jr., 48, of Davisburg was taken to Genesys Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:10 p.m.
According to Mr. Austin’s obituary, he is survived by his father, Donald Austin; and brother, Ronald Austin of Grand Blanc, Mich. A private memorial service will be held in the summer.
Cause of the fire has not been determined. An Oakland County Sheriff’s fire investigator has been assigned to the case.
