Area Walk for Warmth raises $170,000

Fighting the cold and the winter blues is the annual Walk for Warmth.
Oakland County District 1 Commissioner Beth Nuccio recently participated in the fundraiser, along with Michigan State Representative Gail Haines and about a thousand others.
The 21st annual Walk for Warmth, hosted by the Oakland Livingston Human Service Agency, was Feb. 27 in Auburn Hills.
The Walk directly benefits Oakland and Livingston County residents by raising money to heat the homes of those in need.
The 2010 Walk for Wamth raised $170,000 and the goal for 2011 is $180,000.
District 1 includes Addison, Brandon, Groveland, Independence and Oxford townships, as well as the villages of Leonard, Ortonville and Oxford.
