It took the Wildcats the entire year to earn three victories in the Flint Metro League.
Now two games into the FML season, they are two-third’s of the way to matching their league win total from last year after sweeping Clio in a doubleheader on Monday, April 19.
In game one, the Wildcats got a complete game from junior Keith Paslean in their 12-2 victory that only went five innings.
Paslean pitched a complete game, striking out four and only giving up two hits and zero earned runs.
The Wildcats had a balanced offense attack, with eight players getting hits. They were led by Paslean, who went 3-3 and had three RBI’s. Senior Mitch Stefanski went 2-3 with two RBI’s and sophomore Michael Kitchner added two hits.
In the second game of the doubleheader, the hit parade continued as every starter in Oxford’s lineup got at least one hit in the Wildcats 11-1 victory.
Senior Billy Kammerer had three hits and two RBI’s, while Stefanski drove in two runs for Oxford.
Kammerer also threw a complete game, pitching five innings, giving up three hits, three walks and striking out three.
Oxford is currently 6-3-1 and 2-0 in the Flint Metro League. They have doubleheaders at Flint Kearsley on Monday, April 26 and are at home against Walled Lake Western on Friday, April 20 at 4:30 and 6:30 p.m.
