One candidate to seek school board seat

One candidate will be on the ballot for the Brandon School Board in the November election.
Brandon School District resident Robert Privette was the only candidate to file by the Aug. 11 deadline to be placed on the November ballot. One-term incumbent board member D’Anna Keeble chose not to seek reelection. The new term will begin on Jan. 1, 2010.
Keeble was first elected to the board in 2005.
‘Currently, I’m in the process of a career change,? said Keeble.
‘I want to give 100 percent of my attention to my work on the school board’other commitments would take away from that. I’ve been very fortunate to serve on this board and trust the new member will carry on the excellence that is the Brandon School District.?
Privette, 48, a nine-year resident of the Brandon School District, is an engineer at Energy Conversion Devices in Rochester Hills.
A Purdue University graduate, Privette has special interest in the sciences and has been involved in school activities with his two children.
He and his wife of 26 years, Cathy, have two children? Sarah, a 2009 BHS graduate and Franklin, 16, a junior at BHS.
