St. Joseph school is proud of their three finalists at this year’s Flint Area Science Fair. The fair was held at Kettering University March 20 to 22.
Students were interviewed by judges to ensure the student did the work. This provides students experience in communicating their thoughts and actions to other people.
Emily Cormier, a fourth grader won fourth place in the elementary division and received a $150 savings bond for her project titled ‘Plants and Light?.
In the junior high division, eight grade students Tommy Moeller and Michael Galvin did a group project titled, ‘How Wood It Burn?? They each received a $100 savings bond.
St. Joseph school encourages all of their students to complete a science fair project. The students display their projects in January during Catholic Schools Week.
The Flint Area Fair is open to all students in grades four through 12 from Genesee, Shiawassee, Lapeer and Tuscola counties, and also welcomes students from other communities that are not served by a regional science fair.
