Riding a come-from-behind victory against Clio, the Oxford Lady Wildcat Basketball team continued its road warrior ways Dec. 16 with a 43-33 victory at Flint Kearsley.
The win puts the ladies at 2-2 overall and 2-0 in the Flint Metro League.
‘We struggled offensively during the second and third quarters but turned our defense into offense in the quarter and pulled away,? said head coach Al Poynter. ‘Kearsley is a hard-working team that will definitely win some games in our league this season.?
Leading the way for the Lady Wildcats was Jessica Raisch, who scored 15 points, grabbed 8 rebounds, and blocked 3 shots while Joelle Harms had 11 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocked shots.
Oxford’s Dec. 20 game at home against Lapeer West was postponed because of the snow storm. Their next game will be Jan. 6, 2009, at home versus defending FML champions Fenton at 7 p.m.
