2-0 bowlers on a roll!

A road game with very difficult lane conditions?
No problem.
Both the Oxford Boys and Girls Bowling Teams improved to 2-0 on the young season as they easily rolled over the Brandon Blackhawks Dec. 13 to win in their Flint Metro League-opening match.
Against the newly-formed Blackhawks, the Wildcat Boys edged out Brandon 127-113 in the first Baker Game and then, after adjusting to the tricky lane conditions, ended the second game with a more comfortable 223-153 win.
‘Unlike last week when we were down 10 to nothing, this week we were up 10 to nothing,? said Head Coach J.R. Lafnear.
In Head-Up play, the Wildcats won all but one of the 10 matches in the two games as they clipped the Blackhawks 29-1.
The Lady Wildcat bowlers continued to roll as they easily won both Baker Games 134-86 and 165-112. They also won all 10 Head-Up matches to trounce the Blackhawks 30-0.
This is the first season for the Brandon Girls? bowling program.
Leading the way for the boys in the Baker games were Mike Magyar with four strikes and John Taylor with two. In the Head-Up competition, Magyar bowled a 214 game while Steven Lafnear had games of 207 and 178.
Scott Compau and Ben Chizmadia contributed with their first points on the season.
Sarah Decker and Anna Moses lead the way with three of four marks in Baker. In Head-Up, Ashlee High rolled a 191 game while Moses and Hailey Paruszkewicz added their first points of the year with games of 178 and 123, respectively.
