Prime Wireless keeps Oxford, Orion connected

If you’re looking for communications services, there’s now another place in town to go.
Located at 1510 South Lapeer Road on Oxford’s south side, Prime Wireless has been open for a month is ready to serve wireless and wireline needs.
Services offered also include Uverse AT&T cable television, free billing analysis for personal and business accounts, accessories along with high-speed internet and home phone.
Blue tooths (wireless mobile phone headsets) and text messaging are popular items in communication, said Jay Peter, Director of Operations.
‘We sell a lot of blue tooths, leather cases, car chargers and home chargers,? Peter said. ‘Text messaging, right now, is a great feature. We have unlimited text-messaging packages for families now that we didn’t used to have in the past.?
Peter pointed out a newspaper study that found more text messages are made daily in the U.S. than actual phone calls.
The operations director believes people will like this AT&T dealership since they’re flexible with their prices. Unlike AT&T corporate stores, they negotiate with customers on most of their prices. New line activations also mean free accessories for their customers, and they offer free billing analysis.
‘We show our customers how to use phones and how to set up their e- and voice mails,? Peter said. ‘We spent time with customers. They’re not just a number, they’re important to us.?
Prime Wireless also offers corporate discounts for customers who work in the area along with government and Big Three employees. Chrysler and Ford employees receive a 20 percent discount, GM employees 13 percent and all school, police and fire department employees receive 15 percent.
?[This discount] is not only for accessories and phones but also off of services every single month,? Perry said.
Also, a family signing up for a family plan can get up to five free phones.
Existing AT&T customers receive specials as well, and there’s also 10 percent off online pricing.
For those who want to purchase a product from www.att.com but don’t want to wait for it to arrive, getting that product can be as simple as a quick trip to Prime Wireless.
‘If you like what you see at www.att.com, instead of waiting for it to get shipped to you, you can come here and get the same phone,? Peter said.
The director said the decision to open an Oxford store stemmed from Oxford being a great area.
It’s the only AT&T store for at least a 12-mile radius with the nearest one at Great Lakes Crossing. The location also allows it to serve customers in Lake Orion.
Also for the holiday season, both the new Blackberry Bold and the touch-screen HTC Fuze will be free after a rebate.
Hours of operation are Mondays through Fridays from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Peter’s employees include Ian Boice, Andrew Cruga and Amanda Ware.
