The ‘Cutting Edge? salon is celebrating their first anniversary under new ownership.
Owners, Keith and Theresa Ferguson say it’s been a great year and have particularly enjoyed being located in downtown Lake Orion.
Across the street from C.J’s Lakeside Grill & Sandbar, the salon is located at 16 West Flint St.
Theresa said her customers enjoy getting their hair done and being able to walk to a nearby restaurant for lunch or dinner and then shop in the village.
‘Downtown Lake Orion is a very friendly environment. No matter where someone goes downtown, everyone seems to like the interaction they get from everyone around here,? said Theresa.
When Keith and Theresa decided to be a small business owner, they said buying the salon from the previous owner seemed like an obvious decision for them.
‘I have had my hair done by Katherine Levandoski’s, one of my stylists, for about 20 years, so I already knew everyone in the salon,? said Theresa.
Especially proud of her stylists, Theresa said the salon prides itself in getting the right style for each customer.
‘We have a very talented group of stylists at our salon. Whatever style you are looking for, we can give it to you,? she said.
Theresa believes her stylists are unique. ‘They help to create a warm and friendly salon in a calm and relaxing environment,? said Theresa. ‘We have a lot of fun here, and so do my customers. It is the kind of place where everyone feels like they belong.?
Since the salon has so many stylists and technicians, Theresa said it’s easy to get ‘We can fit into anyone’s schedule and we take walk-in customers also,? she said.
Some of the other services on the ‘Cutting Edge? service menu are: manicures and pedicures, hair removal, makeup application, ear piercings, henna, temporary body art and tanning.
Theresa said her henna artist, Roxanne, can create just about any kind of temporary body art a customer would like.
‘Customers can also bring in pictures of the kind of art they want Roxanne to duplicate,? she said.
‘We brought in two newer tanning beds that include a stand-up and super tanning bed,? said Theresa. ‘Customers like using the tanning beds this time of year because when it is dark and dreary outside, a burst of light will give people a little bit of color and it will also help them to feel better mentally and physically.?
