I am a seventeen year resident of Oxford and formally from Toledo, Ohio.

1. Why are you running for township office? What experience, skills, talents or qualities do you have to offer the public? I am running for Oxford Township Treasurer due to the complacency and lack of pro-active leadership exhibited by the incumbent.
I was Treasurer for Davis Lake Highland Association for ten years and led many projects to improve the infrastructure while increasing cash reserves. As a Buyer for Chrysler, I handled $40 million in new parts and components. I have the push and drive that big business has instilled in me that the incumbent hasn’t been exposed to.
I have a Bachelors degree in Arts and Sciences and an Associate degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Toledo.
Sitting by the phone waiting for a call or waiting for a person to walk through the door to take a question is passive and not pro-active. A ‘Full Time Leader For The Future? he is NOT. Vote and Elect Lawrence Banachowski November 4th for a proactive Leader.
2. What are the top three issues/priorities facing the township and how would you go about addressing them? Of the top three issues facing the Township, my number 1 is – Complacency. One approved grant in sixteen years is not good enough. The Treasurer needs to be more aggressive in obtaining funds to offset the water bond that’s coming due and obtaining funds for infrastructure improvements without additional taxes to the taxpayer. Who has he made contact with in Congress to get some of the ‘ear mark? funds of that $700 billion that was passed recently?
The next issue would be addressing the water bond in which I would aggressively invoke the assistance of our state and congressional legislatures. I also see major revenue declines in the tax base due to the high number of foreclosures that are still in the future and infrastructure improvements by means of the safety paths and the stringy lakes dam rebuild to draw new home owners to the area.
3. What would you do to increase public involvement/input in township decision-making? To increase the public involvement I would do what I do currently, go to the public. I know everyone is busy, but when I go out door to door handing out my literature, I see quite a few people and I do have conversation with them. Now talking to people outside my subdivision has been going on for years because I run. I know the sidewalk/safety path conditions for the township and the village. I know the condition of the township cemetery, the foreclosed homes in the subdivisions and talk with the neighbors that are concerned for their declining home values around those houses. The township Treasurer should not have to wait for someone to call or come into the township office to know the pulse of the public. This means getting out on foot and not just by car.
I will be out there for you.
