Brandon Blackhawks open season with shutout of Holly Broncos

At 7 p.m., Sept. 12 the Brandon Blackhawks will kick off the season in the new athletic complex.
On Aug. 28 the excitement of a new playing field spilled out onto the field in Holly as the Brandon visited the Broncos, dumping them 20-0.
Leading the team in victory were returning second year captains seniors Ron Redmond and Quin McNally, accompanied this season by fellow senior Aaron Hyde, and juniors Cory Campbell and Tait McNally.
Jesse Edel raced for 146 yards, Kyle Westfall dashed for 95 yards and Hyde gathered 62 yards, leading the team to a 12-0 half time lead.
Hyde slipped in a 2 yard run to complete the scoring in the fourth quarter.
The Blackhawks are now 1-0, and take on Kearsley at 7 p.m., Sept. 12 in Brandon Township.
