Sheepless in Groveland
On Aug. 3, troopers from the Michigan State Police in Groveland Township, responded to Vasser Road after a neighbor reported a dead sheep in the ditch. Part of the animal’s ear was removed. No area farmers reported any livestock missing. Case closed.
Abuse
On Aug. 3, troopers from the Michigan State Police in Groveland Township, responded to the 700 block of Van Road. The complaint said a mother was beating her child to the point of knocking him down. When troopers arrived, the children were lined up to speak with law enforcement. The case was turned over to protective services.
I’m watching you
On Aug. 4, troopers from the Michigan State Police in Groveland Township, responded to the 5000 block of Belford Road to a neighbor dispute. The complainant said his neighbor put his picnic table on the property line and ‘sat there while his next door neighbor swam.? When the neighbor asked ‘Why are you looking at me?? he responded by saying, ‘I’m going to make you pay for shooting my dog.? The complainant responded by saying, ‘I don’t even own a gun.? When troopers questioned, ‘Why are you sitting back there near the property line?? he responded, ‘Because I like to sit back there.? The troopers suggested the pair stay away from each other.
Warranted
On Aug. 3, a Brandon deputy who responded to the 400 block of State Park Road for a civil dispute found one of the subjects had a Friend of the Court warrant. The man was arrested without incident and taken to the Oakland County Jail.
Musical chairs
On Aug. 7, at about 12:30 a.m., a Brandon deputy on patrol stopped a vehicle on Ortonville Road near Allen Road after observing two passengers change seats at a blinking red light. The deputy smelled intoxicants from the vehicle. All three vehicle occupants were under 21 and all said they had not been drinking. A preliminary breathalyzer test on the driver had results of .08 percent blood alcohol content. The minor driver also had cigarettes on his person. The front seat passenger had a blood alcohol content of .042 percent and the rear seat passenger’s blood alcohol content was .161 percent. The passengers were cited for minor in possession and failure to wear a seatbelt. The driver was cited for zero tolerance and possession of tobacco by a minor and taken to Oakland County Jail.
Unlocked
On Aug. 8, a walk-in complaint was made at the Brandon substation for larceny from an auto. The complainant said on Aug. 7, between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m., someone stole her Sony 580i cell phone from her unlocked 2001 Jeep Cherokee in the 2200 block of Ironwood.
Cell gone
On Aug. 8, a walk-in complaint was made at the Brandon substation. The complainant said on Aug. 7 between 8 and 8:30 p.m., someone stole his Motorola Razor cell phone at a business establishment in the 2200 block of Ortonville Road.
