Getting over it

Groveland Twp.- Madison Myers did not let anything stand in her way last weekend.
Neither did her horse.
Myers, a 13-year-old Brandon Middle School student, competed in the Michigan Hunter-Jumper Association horse show from July 17-20 at AmberWay Stables, 1100 Bird Road.
‘About 130 riders from the southern part of Michigan competed this weekend,? said Brian Lynch, owner of AmberWay Stables.
Riding Moonlighting, a 9-year-old horse, Myers competed in the novice and schooling hunter class. She has been riding at AmberWay for four years, training with instructors Donna Caston and Lauren Smillie.
The show was a regular member and pony show, managed by K Farm Ltd.
AmberWay hosts three shows a year through K Farm Ltd, Lynch said.
‘We’re going to host high school equestrian meets for the area starting in September,? Lynch said.
Along with horse shows, AmberWay Stables provides boarding, lessons, training and a clinic instructed by Greg Best, 1988 Olympic silver medalist.
Best’s jumping clinic, in conjunction with the United States Hunter-Jumper Association and Practical Horseman, will take place Sept. 6 and 7.
‘The clinic is very popular, but very limited,? Lynch said.
