For months, some members of the public have asked Township Supervisor Jerry Dywasuk for a report on Friendship Park and other township matters.
Dywasuk attempted to address those concerns in a report he read into the record near the end of Monday’s board meeting.
His report addressed human resources and legal matters, but centered mainly around the investigation at the park, where an alleged dumping of unwanted materials occurred.
‘The area of the park has been cleaned up and the area has been prepped for future usage,? Dywasuk said.
‘The township is not hiding anything from the public, but instead has kept the township board and the public apprised of the work being done at Friendship Park,? he added.
Dywasuk said the investigation was completed months ago, but his report did not address the results of that investigation.
The supervisor also swayed from addressing Parks & Recreation Director Rock Blanchard by name. Blanchard has been on an unpaid medical leave since mid-January.
‘With regard to township personnel matters, the township board is not in the position to take any action concerning any township employees, past or present, and it is not the board’s policy to comment publicly regarding specific matters unless and until action must be taken,? he said, adding the board is following advice of both their general counsel and labor counsel.
