Police looking for information on boat vandalism, theft

The Lake Orion Police Department and the Oakland County Sheriff’s Department Marine Division are asking for your help.
According to Lake Orion Police Chief Jerry Narsh, the OCSD Marine Division boat, which is housed at Green’s Park, was broken into and vandalized over the weekend.
Narsh said several items were taken from inside by the boat, and considerable damage was done to boat itself. The theft and destruction was discovered Saturday morning and are believed to have occurred sometime during the night.
According to Narsh, it is a felony to damage or attack police property, and the department is asking for anyone who knows or heard anything, or may have witnessed any suspicious activity at Green’s Park, to contact either the LOPD at (248)693-8321 or the OCSD ? Orion Substation at (248)393-0093.
‘In this difficult economic time, it’s hard enough to deploy equipment and personnel to keep the lake safe,? said Narsh. ‘The last thing we need is someone to damage that.?
