Thanks for the chow

Poll workers are prepared to be very busy this election day. One thing they won’t have to worry about it where to get lunch.
Clarkston State Bank has that covered.
‘The bank has been doing it since 1999,? said Dawn Horner, vice president of CSB. ‘I go to Rudy’s and tell them I want a turkey sandwich with a piece of fruit and a cookie.?
Shelagh VanderVeen, Independence Township clerk, presented bank officials with a plaque April 26, thanking them in advance for supplying township poll workers with lunch every election day.
The bank provides more than 100 lunches for workers, VanderVeen said.
‘Everybody appreciates it,? she said.
CSB President, Grant Smith said it’s something they do for the community.
‘We look at it as our responsibility, quite honestly,? he said. ‘It’s one of the ways we’ve been successfully building the bank, by being involved in the community and all the local activities and civic groups.?
