School district business manager receives pay hike

Goodrich – By a 4-2 vote, the school board OK’d the district business manager, Linda DeCamp, a pay increase.
Her raise for the 2006-07 year will be a 12 percent increase with retroactive pay. For the 2007-08 school year she will receive a 7 percent increase. That will bring DeCamp’s yearly salary from $51,500 to $55,000 a year.
Interim Superintendent Larry Allen made the recommendation to the board to give DeCamp the pay hike.
Concerned about the $400,000 that needs to be cut in the district’s budget, trustees Linda Jackson and Tim Zirnhelt said they couldn’t support a raise for DeCamp at this time.
‘Even with this pay increase, Linda will be the lowest paid business manager in Genesee County,? said Allen.
‘We will still be maintaining our financial goal with this recommendation.?
