The Lake Orion Baptist Lions hosted the Juniata Christian Eagles of Vassar last Tuesday and found the Eagles had lost none of the firepower from last year, as the visitors were victorious, 55-39.
The Lions were down 14-7 at the end of one quarter and 37-16 at the half.
Senior Ben Cuyler led the Lions with 12 points, senior Eric Dewar had eight points and 11 rebounds and senior center Matt Dobis had seven points, 12 rebounds and 10 blocks.? Point guard James Moreno had 5 points and 10 rebounds.
The Lions out rebounded the Eagles 41 to 31.’However, their shooting percentage was only 30-percent for the game.
The 4-0 Eagles were led by Jonathon Koendler’s 20 points.
On Friday the Lions traveled to’Saginaw and took on’the Community Christian of Saginaw Eagles. The team salvaged the week, coming away with a 46-35 victory. Senior Zack Halleck sprained an ankle in the first quarter and was lost for the remainder of the game.?
Dobis led the Lions with 13 points, 18 rebounds and 8 blocks.’Moreno followed with 11 points and six assists.’Sophomore Matt Cameron came off the bench and contributed six points and nine rebounds, and Dewar added 10 boards.
At press time, the Lions? record was 2-1. They host Rochester Hills Christian on Friday.
