The Lake Orion Police Association continued their strong tradition of giving back to the community this week by offering a check to offset some of the costs associated with the annual Thanksgiving feast put on at C.J.’s Village Caf?.
C.J’s owner Carl Slomczenski said he expects somewhere around 250 people on Thursday.
‘It’s really appreciated,? he said of the donation.
The Thanksgiving dinner for those in need will be served from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. (see ‘Happenings? on Page 5 for more information).
‘It’s a small community and we try to help everyone,? said Reserve Commander Dave Mirku. ‘Especially now with times as tough as they are.?
All funds raised by the association go directly back to the people, he noted.
