Be sure to hop aboard ‘Orion’s Polar Express?

The Orion Area Parade Group (OAPG) has chosen the ever popular story by Chris Van Allsburg as its 2007 theme and ‘Orion’s Polar Express? is shaping up to be the best parade yet.
Ranked the #2 nighttime parade in Michigan, Orion’s Lighted Parade is set for Saturday, Dec. 1 at 6 p.m. with many new and exciting things planned for this year.
Applications are already coming in and entrants are encouraged to light up the town with as much creativity as they can.
The OAPG invites new and existing participants to be a part of the parade, which is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season.
In addition, the third annual Mark Turpen Scholarship Program is well underway and invites graduating seniors who will be going into a humanities program to apply for the scholarship by Nov. 15.
Mark Turpen was an attorney, community activist and parade coordinator who passed away in 2004. His memory lives on through this holiday scholarship.
Information on the scholarship and the parade is available at www.oapg.org.
