Kim Banycky of Lapeer and Steve Roberts of White Lake announce the engagement of their daughter Cortney Elizabeth Roberts to Troy Douglas Smith.
The bride elect is a 2000 graduate of Clarkston High School, and 2004 graduate of Michigan State University. She is a first-grade teacher in Grand Ledge.
The future groom, son of Doug and Connie Smith of Portland, is a 2002 graduate of St. Patrick’s High School and 2007 graduate of Michigan Technological University. He is a mechanical engineer.
An August 2008 wedding is planned.
