Liberty Dynamite Cheer Team from the Stars and Stripes Gymnastics Academy of Clarkston needs help.
The cheer team hosts a fundraiser 4-8 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, at Pete’s Coney Island, 6160 Dixie Highway.
The cheer team will be in uniform while they bus tables, seat customers, and assist the wait staff. Tips will benefit the cheer team.
Funds will help the team go to the Contest of Champions Nationals at Disney World in February.
“The girls do all the advertising,” said parent and booster club member Linda Miller. “They are very excited about the fundraiser.”
The 11 girls on the team range from 11-17 years old. They come from all over the area: Clarkston, Oxford, Lake Orion, Flushing, Waterford, and Holly.
It costs each girl $900 to go the competition. This cost includes fee to compete, plane ticket, and package for competitions. This does not include souvenirs or other extra costs.
They go to nationals every other year.
“The team needs extra support to help them raise money,” said Miller.
