Release the ducks!

One duck, two duck, three duck, four.
It’s time for the 2nd Annual Duck Race through the Village of Lake Orion.
Yellow plastic toy ducks will be racing down the river in Children’s Park on Saturday, Aug. 11 to win you great prizes and to benefit the Oxford/Addison Youth Assistance and the Orion Area Youth Assistance.
For this year’s race, there are 1,500 ducks available, but with each $5 donation worth an entry in the race, the ducks are already going fast.
Last year, the two youth assistance programs generated $3,415 from the Duck Race, and they’re hoping to top that goal this year.
This year’s race begins promptly at 1 p.m.
Whoever’s duck reaches the finish line first will receive an Apple iPod, second place will get $999, third place will receive $250 and fourth place will receive a delectable fruit gift basket.
Free chips and water will be available to all racers and there will be many activities for children and their families to participate in.
To reserve your spot in the Duck Race or for more information, call Cheryl Johnson for tickets at (586) 707-8484.
