Parkhurst Homes: offering you a suite retreat from life

As the old saying goes, your home is your castle.
Who doesn’t dream of a luxurious master bath to escape after a long, hard day?
Now, you can view the bath of your dreams at a price you can afford. The Suite retreat is available in modular and manufactured homes and available for viewing at Oxford’s Parkhurst Homes, located at 1540 S. Lapeer Rd.
Parkhurst Homes is a 52-year-old family owned company selling high-end modular and manufactured housing.
What does the Suite retreat include? You can own an oversized shower with glass surroundings, enjoy the large his and her vanity with brushed nickel fixtures, a fireplace and even a LCD flat panel TV and DVD player.
Whether you wish to build on your own private lot that you have purchased or in the planned manufactured home development of Parkhurst Estates, your Suite retreat can be a reality.
Parkhurst has thousands of plans to choose from.
A new line of modular homes has been added to the Parkhurst Homes housing lineup. Unibilt Homes of Ohio has been building top quality modular homes for years, but is new to the Michigan market.
Parkhurst’s new Unibilt model is a perfect empty nester home with a large great room and Anderson wood windows.
The charming Cape Cod style homes, like the 2,182-square-foot Ridgeport, offer his and her closets and a large master bathroom, while the 2,535-square-foot Crawford style features a covered front porch and luxurious garden bath.
Want something that’s not on one of the floor plans?
Because Parkhurst custom-builds all of their homes from the ground up, any feature that’s available elsewhere can be added to a Parkhurst home.
Modular homes have 50 percent more lumber than other homes and drywall is installed with screws, not nails. They’re also built in a controlled factory environment and meet or exceed Michigan building codes.
Parkhurst builds year-round, so you don’t have to wait for the warm weather to move into your dream home.
Sharon Crowe, of Parkhurst Homes, said homes take about eight weeks to order and then one-to-three months to build, depending on the sitework that has to be done.
The first step to attaining your Parkhurst home is being pre-qualified for a construction draw loan. The homeowner then meets with a Parkhurst employee, who will work hard to meet all their expectations and needs while educating them about the building process.
Parkhurst Homes caters to many different kinds of customers. There are first-time home buyers and also the move-up buyers who typically wish to increase or decrease their living space.
If land hasn’t been purchased for the home, don’t worry. Parkhurst can assist customers in finding the right realtor.
Parkhurst also owns a 300 site land lease community of manufactured homes in Oxford. The advantage to these homes is that it reduces your monthly payment over building on private land. Many times the payments can be half or less than building on your own land.
Want to check out some Parkhurst Homes for yourself? Drive around the 300-unit community behind their S. Lapeer Rd. office.
Over the past year, Crowe said ‘We’ve been working on upgrading all the homes going in now with brick skirting along with optional garages and car ports.?
Parkhurst also offers maintenance services, such as snow plowing and lawn mowing, much like a condominium association.
Outside of Oxford, Parkhurst has built homes in all areas of Michigan, excluding the Upper Peninsula.
