Cranberries Cafe, a cornerstone of downtown Goodrich for 12 years, excels at taking the dining experience away from the ordinary and into the extraordinary. And while some may expect that celebration of living through eating to be a pricey night out, at Cranberries Cafe, that is not the case.
At prices comparable to many chain restaurants, Cranberries offers a unique and memorable meal at a price that doesn’t leave customers with an empty wallet. The introduction of a $10.95 dinner menu has also proven to be a hit with diners, said owner Patty Plant.
‘We try to be competitive price-wise, but with exceptional service, personal care and a small town atmosphere,? says Plant.
Plant prides herself on Cranberries Cafe having a menu that reflects not only the season, but the times in general. It’s that commitment to current health and food trends, and a concern for her customers, which moved Plant to make the switch to become a ‘trans-fat free? establishment.? Additionally, the restaurant serves all natural chicken and beef.
Husband Mitch Plant, a professional chef, is instrumental in much of the planning for the menu.
Cranberries Cafe is more than a full service restaurant with an exceptional bar, it’s an institution in the community.
Whether a regular customer or a first time patron of the establishment, visitors to Cranberries Cafe will undoubtedly notice the welcoming atmosphere that brings people back time and time again. Enhancing that ‘where everybody knows your name? feeling is the wait staff, the newest member of which has been working the tables at Cranberries for over a year. The low turnover of staff is unusual in this business, and a benefit to customers in that it allows the staff to get to know the clientele.
‘Our customers are important to us; They become a part of who we are,? says Plant.
And while the servers are a constant, much at Cranberries is changing, and always for the better.
Plant says she adjusts the menu about four times a year, and is always keeping her finger on the pulse of the food industry. Additionally, the restaurant often offers new promotions and entertainment. Live music, martini nights, wine dinners, murder mysteries and beer tasting are just a few of the happenings at Cranberries Cafe.
‘We are always thinking of new ideas,? says Plant.
So whether your celebrating a special occasion or just having survived another work week, Cranberries Cafe invites you to stop on in, eat some amazing food, and experience something beyond the boring.
‘We like to take care of our customers to let them have a great dining experience,? says Plant. ‘We like to create memories.?
