Choir, theater students receive honors

Congratulations to a select group of Oxford High School choir and theater students for their recent accomplishments.
Six OHS freshman auditioned for the Michigan School Vocal Music Association (MSVMA) Junior High SSA State Honors Choir.
Smantha Anderson, Courtney Caldwell, Nickole Flasher, Aryn Genez, Natalie Musgrove and Erica Schlueter were selected to perform at the Amway Grand Auditorium in Grand Rapids on Saturday, Jan. 27.
Three OHS students were selected for the MSVMA High School Regional Honors Choir.
Amanda Ryskamp, Kaitlyn Sims and Deborah Zenz performed Dec. 2 at the Honors Choir Concert at Northville High School.
Sims was selected to be a member of the MSVMA High School SATB State Honors Choir and will be performing with 150 students from across the state Jan. 27 in Grand Rapids.
Two OHS seniors also performed in the individual Musical Theater category at the International Thespian Festival at Waterford Mott High School on Dec. 1.
Rachel Napoleon and Ashton Albertson received Superior ratings and Napoleon qualified for the National Thespian Festival in Nebraska next June.
