Brandon’s sand volleyball leagues came to a close earlier this month with championships decided in each of the leagues.
The leagues took place at Brandon’s six sand volleyball courts, located at Brandon High School, 1025 S. Ortonville Road, Ortonville. Participation in the leagues increased from last year’s inaugural campaign.
A total of 28 teams competed in the leagues, up from 18 last summer. Of that total, 18 teams played in the women’s only division on Tuesday nights, while 10 played in the coed division Wednesday nights.
Brandon varsity volleyball coach Brian Williams said the leagues featured females and males from age 13-40, and the areas the players came from included Ann Arbor, Rochester, Grand Blanc, Oxford and Goodrich.
