Congratulations to Oxford resident Robert Hewett for being named as one of the four July winners of the Oakland County Parks Annual Fishing Contest at Addison Oaks.
The 15-year-old reeled in a 8.5-inch, 3-ounce, crappie fish over the 4th of July weekend at the park’s Buhl Lake.
Hewett said he’s always liked fishing and has caught fish up to 15-inches long.
Although it took him a while to catch the smaller fish during his first competition, Hewett is proud of being named a winner.
So what happens to the fish he catches? He leaves that to his parents. He said there’s no way he’ll eat fish.
Winners were awarded with an Oakland County Parks Family Fun Passbook worth $140.
