As of July 10, Nancy Kammer has two titles to answer to at the Oxford school board offices’director of human resources and assistant superintendent.
Kammer, who has been the director of human resources for seven years, was appointed to the assistant superintendent position after Ron Franey decided to retire in June.
The St. Clair resident received her MBA in human resources from Baker College and spent 15 years of her career in the East China School District, which encompasses schools in Marine City and St.Clair.
As assistant superintendent of Oxford schools, Kammer will be second in line to the superintendent, and will focus her work on various operations, like food service and maintenance of the schools.
‘I am excited to be assistant superintendent because I think I can have a larger impact,? she said. On top of the compiling state and federal reports, hiring and contract labor relations she’ll continue doing for human resources, Kammer said she will also be looking towards the future and the challenges the district will face.
‘I think this area’s going to take off with growth as the economy picks up,? she said.
Aside from her job in Oxford, Kammer is also a member of the Oxford Rotary and enjoys getting involved with the local community.
She loves spending time with her three daughters, camping, biking and with her two dogs.
Kammer said she enjoys the Oxford school district because of the people she works with and is looking forward to reaching out to even more people.
Superintendent Virginia Brennan-Kyro has known Kammer for 20 years and said she has ‘outstanding work ethic? and is ‘extremely knowledgeable in terms of human resources and all of the related laws.?
‘I know Nancy will do an outstanding job,? Brennan-Kyro said. ‘We’re very happy to have her.?
Kammer’s consolidated job of director of human resources and assistant superintendent will have a salary of $113,909.
