Over $7,000 was raised for Lake Orion Special Education programs and the Guided Activities Program at the 4th annual Lake Orion Fundraiser Volleyball Tournament on Feb. 11. The tournament held at Lake Orion High School featured 132 players on 22 teams, including six teams of Lake Orion school district staff. Lake Orion Rio Wraps, Jet’s Pizza, Domino’s Pizza, Little Caesar’s, Tubby’s, Garden Fresh, Kroger’s and Sam’s Club were among the many generous donors that made the event possible. Sheri Kaplan, social worker for the district, and Ben Gerdeman, coordinator of the GAP are already looking forward to next year’s event.
