A coca-cola sign, aimed at attracting customers and covering an unsightly air conditioning unit at Ed’s Broadway Gift and Costume shop in downtown Lake Orion, has gone missing.
The round sign was taken sometime on the evening of Jan. 30th outside of the store, located at the corner of Broadway and Flint Streets.
The sign was held by wires, some ten feet off the ground, on the shop’s Broadway front.
‘It looks like somebody clipped the wires,? said Lloyd Coe, owner of Ed’s.
‘We’ve had it there for three of four years, maybe longer,? he added.
Coe figured the sign was taken by someone who might have had too much to drink and saw it on their way home.
He thinks someone might have had to use a ladder to clip the wires that held the sign up.
Coe, whose store has been open since 1997, has filed a report with local police.
